Q-assign Plugin Action Emails Not Being Delivered

Overview

If you are experiencing issues with delivery of emails when using Plugin Actions (such as Email Notification or Send Email), then this could be because Salesforce has introduced a new requirement for email-sending domain verification. As part of this change, emails sent from Salesforce using an unverified email domain may fail to be delivered.

For more information, please refer to Salesforce's official documentation:

Salesforce: Spring ’26 Email-Sending Domain Verification Requirement

Salesforce also provides additional guidance on verifying email-sending domains:

Salesforce: Determine How to Verify Your Email-Sending Domains

What is causing the issue?

Salesforce now requires email-sending domains to be verified before Salesforce can reliably deliver emails using those domains.

For example, an affected org may have the following configuration under:

Setup → Authorized Email Domains

If the sending domain has not been verified, Salesforce can prevent the email from being delivered.

How can the issue be resolved?

The Salesforce email-sending domain needs to be verified.

Go to:

Setup → Authorized Email Domains

Your Salesforce Administrator/IT team will need to complete the domain verification process. This requires adding a DNS TXT record provided by Salesforce to the domain's DNS configuration.

Or, Salesforce also recommends verifying email-sending domains using an active DKIM key, where possible.

What if I cannot verify the domain immediately?

Salesforce provides a "Use a substitute email address for unverified domains" option that can allow Salesforce to send emails using a Salesforce-provided substitute address.

However, verifying the email-sending domain is the recommended long-term solution.

What should I check if emails are still not being received?

If the email-sending domain has been verified and notifications are still not being delivered, please check the following:

  1. Verify the Q-assign Context User's email address

The email address associated with the Q-assign Context User must also be verified in Salesforce. An unverified Context User email address can prevent Q-Assign notification emails from being delivered.

  2. Verify the case owner's email address
Ensure that the email address of the assigned case owner is valid and verified in Salesforce.
